Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Guitar Maestro and any related websites, applications, educational materials, digital content, interactive features, gamification, audio, video, graphics and other services provided by Guitar Maestro, operated by Capsicum (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By accessing or using Guitar Maestro, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
1. About the service
Guitar Maestro provides digital educational content and interactive tools intended to support learning and practice. Features may include lessons, exercises, demonstrations, audio, visual materials, progress tracking, achievements, rewards and other gamified experiences.
The service is an educational aid. It does not guarantee any particular learning outcome, level of ability, qualification or professional result.
2. Who may use the service
Guitar Maestro is intended for learners aged 10 and over. Children under 10 must not use the service. You must also be legally permitted to use the service in your country.
If you are under the age at which you may enter into a contract, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child's use of the service.
3. Accounts and account security
Some features may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
You are responsible for protecting your login details and for activity carried out through your account. You must not share passwords or attempt to access another person's account.
Please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
4. Permission to use the service
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use the service for your own private, lawful and non-commercial learning purposes.
This permission does not transfer ownership of the service or any content to you.
5. Copyright and intellectual property
Guitar Maestro and its content are owned by us or used under licence. This includes, without limitation:
- Written lessons and educational materials
- Course structures, learning sequences and teaching methods
- Audio, music, recordings and narration
- Video, illustrations, graphics, photographs and animations
- Interactive exercises, software and application features
- Branding, names, logos and visual design
- Gamification systems, achievements, rewards and progress structures
- Databases, compilations and other original digital content
This material is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws.
Except where expressly permitted by law or by us in writing, you must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, modify, translate, publicly display, publicly perform, scrape, extract or create derivative works from the service or its content.
You must not remove copyright notices, ownership notices or other rights information.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the service for an unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose
- Interfere with the operation or security of the service
- Attempt to bypass access, payment or security controls
- Reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to obtain source code, except where the law expressly permits it
- Use automated systems to copy, scrape or extract content or data
- Upload malicious code or material that infringes another person's rights
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
- Use Guitar Maestro content to build, train or improve another commercial product, dataset or artificial-intelligence system without written permission
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service or its content
7. Gamification, progress and virtual rewards
Points, streaks, badges, achievements, levels and similar features are designed to encourage participation and support learning.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, these features have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or property, and do not create ownership rights. We may correct, adjust or withdraw virtual rewards where reasonably necessary to address errors, misuse, service changes or discontinued features.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
Some features or content may require payment or a subscription. Prices, billing periods and renewal terms will be displayed before purchase.
Where a purchase is made through an app store or another payment provider, its payment, cancellation and refund terms may also apply. Deleting an account does not automatically create a refund or cancel an external subscription. Subscriptions should be managed through the provider through which they were purchased. Our subscription page links to the official store controls. The planned launch trial gives seven full days of all-access without payment details and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription.
9. Third-party services and content
The service may contain links to or integrate with third-party platforms, sign-in providers, app stores or other services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that every feature or item of content will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
We may maintain, update, correct, replace, suspend or discontinue parts of the service. Where reasonably practicable, we will avoid unnecessary disruption to paid services.
11. Safety
Learning and practising an instrument may involve repetitive physical activity and the use of electrical or audio equipment. Use suitable equipment, maintain a comfortable posture, protect your hearing and stop if you experience pain or discomfort.
Seek appropriate professional advice if you have a medical condition or concern. Capsicum's educational content is not medical or health advice.
12. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been seriously or repeatedly breached, the service is being misused, or action is necessary to protect users, us or third parties.
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion through our account-deletion page.
13. Disclaimers
The service and its content are provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not make guarantees about uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy or particular educational results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Privacy and account deletion
Our collection and use of personal information are explained in the Guitar Maestro Privacy Policy.
Information about closing an account and requesting deletion of personal information is available on the Guitar Maestro account-deletion page.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service, the law or our operating practices. The latest version and its effective date will be published on this page.
Your continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If a material change requires additional consent, we will request it separately.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
